ChatGPT Is Learning New Tricks. OpenAI Introduced Code Interpreter With GPT-4

Last week OpenAI announced that Code Interpreter is available to all ChatGPT Plus members. This extension allows the chatbot to work with your uploads, which gives it entirely new capabilities. ChatGPT can make sense of your uploaded documents, photographs, videos, PDFs and data tables.

Data Analysis

You can now get the chatbot to analyze and understand data. It will perform complex data transformations, statistical analysis and visualization. It looks at graphs, creates graphs from tables or the other way around, and more importantly it will find relevant connections within that data.

Computer Vision

Computer vision trains computers to interpret and understand the visual world. You can give ChatGPT images and videos and it will recognize faces, detect and recognize objects, reconstruct scenes. This gives a whole new world of features to ChatGPT. While computer vision is not yet 20:20, it’s bound to get more refined.

Document Reading and Analysis

The bot now has more information to work with, beyond just talking to you about whatever is in its database. Upload your own documents, and within that conversation, ChatGPT will access the extra data. The computer visualization also grants it OCR capabilities, so it can read your PDFs or JPEGs.

Nostalgia road. Restoration of old photographs

I knew I had just seen the most important advance in technology since the graphical user interface.

This inspired me to think about all the things that AI can achieve in the next five to 10 years (...) Of course, there are serious questions about what kind of support and retraining people will need. Governments need to help workers transition into other roles. But the demand for people who help other people will never go away. The rise of AI will free people up to do things that software never will.

⚙️ Practical tips

Three Applicabilities for Code Interpreter to max up on ChatGPT

ChatGPT just had a new measure of growth. The developers introduced new building blocks. Talking about what you can do with them is like talking about how can bricks can be useful. Where would you even start?

Infinite ways to work with your data

Clean up your spreadsheets and reorganize them without going through the tables manually.

Generate graphs based on your CVS and JSON tables, plot data history. Find patterns in your data and discuss them with ChatGPT. You can identify trends and perform detailed analyses.

Create software, including games

There are multiple users who already created small experimental game samples in under 20 minutes. From ideation to debugging, ChatGPT was prompted to go through the entire process. ChatGPT will use your own libraries and prompt itself until the game is live.

Create GIF from Location Information

Provide the Code Interpreter with map coordinates, place names or geospatial data, and it will generate visual representations. Instead of just creating a static image, it can create an animated GIF that will show changes over time, differences between locations or PoV navigation.
